British Professor to Discuss Effects of BREXIT on Creative Industries, Design Diversity

Dr. Maragiannis’ talk will focus on diversity + inclusivity by Design and will try to re-imagine the shape of the nation, the city, the company, and the designer. It will examine how practices can amplify and mobilize this under-investigated aspect of practice and discourse, where design acts inclusively regardless of ethnicity, vulnerability, language, disability, gender, or age.

There has been a great deal written about the impact of BREXIT in education, politics, finance, immigration and ethics – key matters in society, admittedly, but there have been no discussions on the creative industries and little significant debate on how design diversity will be affected by this extraordinary change.

The lecture is expected to stimulate dialogue on this issue.

A designer, academic and researcher, Dr. Maragiannis has devoted his career to exploring and understanding the fundamentals of diversity + inclusivity by Design within the context of the digital landscape and a multidisciplinary approach to design thinking and typographic design.
